How to Log In to ChatGPT Using Your MBS Email Account

Purpose

This guide explains how to log in to ChatGPT using your Melbourne Business School (MBS) email account.

Steps to Log In

Go to: https://chatgpt.com
Click Log in (top right corner).
When prompted, enter your MBS work email address (e.g., firstinitial.lastname@mbs.edu).
- Do not select “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Microsoft.”
- Instead, choose to log in with your email address.
Select Melbourne Business School when prompted how you want to log in.
You’ll be redirected to the Melbourne Business School login page.
Authenticate using your MBS Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials (same as your MBS email and password).
Once authenticated, you’ll be redirected back to ChatGPT and logged in.
- Please note that if you have an existing ChatGPT account and are logging into the MBS workspace for the first time, you will be prompted to merge the account into the MBS workspace.

Migrating an existing account

If you have used your MBS email address connected to an existing paid ChatGPT account, you will be prompted to migrate your account to the MBS workspace.

You can choose to transfer their existing data to the Enterprise workspace, or to export and delete your data.

Paid personal subscriptions are automatically canceled as part of the migration process.

Troubleshooting

If you receive an error message during login, or the MBS login page does not appear:
- Double-check that you used your MBS work email address.
- Clear your browser cache and try again.
- Try using a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge).
- If the issue persists, contact the MBS Service Desk for assistance.
  
  If you receive this error message, it may be because a ChatGPT license is not assigned to you.
