Zoom - Configure Audio

A computer will usually need to have a speaker and microphone to join an audio conference, as well as a webcam if it is a video conference. Most laptops and smartphones will contain cameras, microphones and speakers.

You may follow the instructions below to test if the speaker and microphone are working for Zoom in Windows:

1. On Zoom, select Settings

2. Select Audio.

3. Ensure the right speaker and microphone have been selected. This is modifiable using the dropdown menu.

4. Select Test Speaker to test audio output.

5. Select Test Mic to test audio input.

a) Speak into the microphone - you should be able to see activity within the volume bar below.

b) Select Recording to end the recording - you should be able to hear your voice.
