Please note Okta is dealt with by the UoM IT department
Note: You will not be able to reset your factor if you do not have access to the smartphone that was setup with the initial Okta Verify enrolment or if you haven't setup a back up factor (E.g. Google authenticator or Authy) to verify your identity. In this case, you will required to contact the service centre on 03 834 40888 to request for a factor reset.
1. Navigate to https://sso.unimelb.edu.au/
2. Login to your account using your username and password
3. Authenticate via your Okta Verify or any other enrolled factors
Note: Once successfully authenticated, you will be navigated to the Okta settings page
4. Scroll down to the Extra Verification section and click on 'Remove'
- If the option to 'remove' is unavailable, then select edit profile on the top right hand corner of the page. This will request you to authenticate via your password and your secondary factor to make any changes to your profile.
6. Select 'Yes' to confirm factor reset.
Note: You will receive the below confirmation notification. You can now set up Okta Verify as a second factor on a new smart phone.
